This device client access license (CAL) authorizes one computer to access Office Communications Server or Live Communications Server regardless of the number of users (for example, on a shared workstation).

This standard CAL supports the instant message and presence capabilities of Office Communications Server 2007. For conferencing and voice and call management, an enterprise CAL is required.
Live Communications Server 2005 does not have separate standard and enterprise CALs; only the one license is needed.

User CALs are also available. A user CAL authorizes one user to access Communications Server from any device (for example, when an employee accesses the server from a computer at work and another at home).

Note: This license does not require media.
