This enterprise user client access license (CAL) can be used only in conjunction with a standard Exchange Server user CAL. It allows one user to access certain Exchange Server features on any number of computers or other devices (for example, when an employee accesses the server from a computer at work and another at home).

The features licensed through the enterprise Exchange Server user CAL include:

Unified messaging
Per-user/per-distribution-list journaling
Managed folders

Caution: This CAL does not provide access to Microsoft hosted services — Exchange Hosted Filtering and Forefront Security for Exchange Server.

This CAL works with Exchange Server 2007, Standard and Enterprise editions.

Device CALs are also available. A device CAL authorizes one computer to access Exchange Server's additional features, regardless of the number of users (for example, on a shared workstation).
