This device client access license (CAL) authorizes one computer to access Live Communications Server 2005 regardless of the number of users (for example, on a shared workstation).
User CALs are also available. A user CAL authorizes one user to access Live Communications Server from any device (for example, when an employee accesses the server from a computer at work and another at home).
An external connector (EC) license is also available. The EC license allows any number of external users or devices to access a single installation of Live Communications Server 2005.
